I do know that a single port 1600cc runs around 50 to 60, in stock form.  A 1641 may have a few more ponies to it.

Back to work on my "69"...  Put a couple of hours in last night and tonight.  I have been cleaning up the chrome air filter and the flywheel.  Pretty sure it's all ready to go.  While admiring my handy work on the flywheel I noticed a couple of teeth are worn.  I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about.  All the teeth are there but one three inch section has some ware on the side.  With some luck we might get it all back in the car this weekend...

Hopefully. It's always nice to get a vw running. It makes you feel good that you accomplished something pretty big.

Got the seats back in the car.  Now the only rockin and rollin the car will be doing is through the stereo.  I bought a nylon cutting board and cut 1 inch by 11 inch strips off it.  The board was already an 1/8 inch thick which was perfect.  Placed the seats back on the rails and then tapped in the strips with a rubber mallet.  It's pretty solid and the seat's still adjustable.  Not bad for a whopping $1.97 at Target!!!

Added a couple of "Remove before flight" streamers for an eclectic touch...

Richard, you are my kind of man!  Improvise when you don't have what you need or when it is No Longer Available (NLA).  When NLA applies, you don't have much of a choice, but to find something to work.  Plus the price was better than right!  Way to go.

Yeah, improvising is all part of the fun!  Gary is the one that suggested the cutting board.  It just took me a while to find the right one and I couldn't pass up the price either.

Richard doing the install with his eyes closed!

Ryne and Paul provided us with the necessary tools to help with the flywheel seal install. You guy's kept me from having to run home "again" for a tool run......THANKS!!!!!

Motor "Popped" right in.....installed some sheet metal (that we had to run home for)....made a quick stop at Advance Auto.....fought with fuel line clamps.....and SHAAAZZZZAAAMM!

The 69 Cal.....Runs, Looks and Sounds Great!!

Ryne,

Things went well into the night.  We got a lot done as you can see and Gary left me with a homework assignment.  We have to hook up the throttle wire and re route one wire and that should hopefully do it!!!
