I found the two tricks!!! You have to have a loose belt and it has to have the little grooves in it  Wink

That makes sense. Obviously it has to be loose in order to go right on and off and the grooves for catching the screw driver.

With my luck, and of course my famous skills with tools.... That screw driver would end up embedded in my forehead!   Lips Sealed

Bullet-proof glass!  LOL Cheesy  Last time I saw bullet-proof glass was when I worked for the General in Panama in the Army.

I don't want bits of screwdriver and Dylan's finger hitting me. Gotta prepare for these things.

My take..... it's neat to watch on video, but please don't try this @ home kids!  Grin  I know that my gen. has a balance weight on the pulley that might cause quite a "hick-up" with the screw driver trick!

A loose belt and quite a bit of stupidity is just what it takes to make this work.

IMHO!

Watching this video saved me so much time!  A couple days ago, I drove to my school and turned and hit a bump.  A bit after the bump I noticed my steering was very stiff.  I thought I had broken something in my steering, and that it would cost a fortune to get fixed.  However, on my way back home, I drove down the same street and saw a belt in the middle of the road.  I pulled over, popped the hood, and sure enough, mine was missing.  I brought it home and tried to figure out how I was going to get the belt on since my tensioner is hard to get to and just a pain to work with.  I remembered seeing this video and wrapped the belt around everything and pryed it part way onto the crank pulley.  I pushed it on with a screwdriver (using a 2x4) while my friend started the engine and the belt popped right on!  I can't imagine what I woulda done if I hadnt seen this video.  Thanks for posting it!
